COBRA Continuation

If you were affected by job loss through employer staff reduction any time between September 1, 2008 and February 28, 2010, you may be eligible for COBRA continuation coverage at only 35% of the normal cost thanks to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009.   President Obama signed the legislation to extend the subsidized benefits an additional six months (up to fifteen months from the original nine months) on December 19, 2009.  Also extended is the deadline for eligibility, originally scheduled to expire on 12/31/09, now extended to 2/28/2010.
